How it works
Laser acne therapy works by targeting specific areas (face, chest or back) with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). The same laser as with hair removal, but a different wavelength for its different purpose.
This is one of the most administered forms of light therapy in dermatological applications.
It allows the treatment of acne with specific wavelengths of light which target the bacteria in the skin, as well as inflamed sebaceous glands which contribute to breakouts.
How many treatments will I need?
To gain results, you will need a series of treatments over a period of time. With this, you can see up to 72% improvement in active acne. Follow-up/maintenance treatments may be necessary.
I can also recommend a supporting skincare routine to maximise results and you may want to consider utilising some of the products I stock here.
Are there any side effects?
Redness is common after treatment and will usually subside within a few hours or the next day.
Laser acne scarring therapy
What is acne scarring?
Acne scarring can take on the form of damaged skin and/or skin pigmentation/blemishes on the skin’s surface. This can lead to a lack of confidence and attempts at trying to cover-up the skin, often with excessive use of foundation and concealer.
What does treatment consist of?
For acne scarring, I combine techniques, i.e. the laser carbon peel and skin rejuvenation on alternate weeks, over a course of 3 – 6 months. This will visibly improve the condition of the skin as it rebuilds collagen.
As with acne treatment, I can also recommend a supporting skincare routine to maximise results.
