Semi permanent eyebrow makeup is still growing in popularity. However, the shape and colour implemented by the technician sadly isn’t always as the client desired, thus resulting in a potential need for laser brow tattoo removal.
As this treatment is on the face, I always ensure that extreme care is taken around the eye area in conjunction with ‘safe’ laser settings. Permanent makeup (PMU) is generally successfully removed after 1-12 treatment sessions.
Clients then usually seek a qualified and skilled PMU technician to re-apply the semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. If this is the case, I personally recommend a local technician with outstanding skills and results, just give me a shout!
Does it hurt and will I scar?
PMU removal hurts no more than having the initial treatment. Clients liken it to having a rubber band snapped on the skin. I will begin the tattoo removal treatment with the lowest settings and we can increase these settings if you are comfortable and your skin reacts well. You must also shave the area prior to the laser treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Initial frosting, redness and a slight swelling are common and will settle around 24 – 48 hours after treatment. During the treatment, frosting will occur and sometimes blood blistering. The treatment area should not be exposed to the sun in-between treatments.
N.B. I do not treat any other cosmetic tattoo removal, such as semi-permanent eyeliner or lip make-up.
