Laser Hair Removal

Long-lasting hair reduction, tailored to your skin and hair.

Laser hair removal uses concentrated light and heat energy to target melanin within the hair follicle. The absorbed energy converts to heat, damaging the follicle and helping to inhibit future growth.

Every course begins with a consultation and patch test so your skin type, hair colour and treatment area can be assessed before a personalised plan is recommended.

Why multiple sessions are needed

  • Hair grows in distinct cycles, and laser is most effective while a follicle is in its active growth phase, known as the anagen stage.
  • Because follicles are at different stages at any one time, a course of around 6 to 12 sessions is usually needed to treat hairs across their growth cycles.

Hair and skin colour factors

  • Dark, coarse hair often responds most effectively because it contains more melanin for the light energy to target.
  • White, grey, very light blonde and red hair contains little responsive melanin, so laser hair removal may not be effective for these hair colours.

What does it feel like?

The sensation is generally described as brief heat or a rubber-band snap against the skin. Most clients find it manageable, and settings are carefully selected for your skin and treatment area.

Laser hair removal compared with waxing

Over many years, regular waxing can cost considerably more than a completed laser course. Based on four-weekly waxing from age 20 to 60, the example figures supplied by the clinic total £40,040 for waxing compared with £2,950 for laser hair removal across the underarms, bikini, full legs, lip and chin. Prices and the number of laser sessions required vary by person and treatment area.
