Skin Blemish Removal

Seborrheic Keratosis

A considered approach to unwanted benign skin growths.

Seborrhoeic keratoses are common benign skin growths that can develop as we age. They can vary considerably in colour, size and texture, and may appear anywhere on the body.

If removal is appropriate, a suitable technique can be used to reduce or remove the unwanted growth.

Because some skin lesions can resemble other conditions, a proper assessment is important before cosmetic removal. Any lesion that is new, changing, bleeding, itching or otherwise concerning should be assessed medically before cosmetic removal.

What is seborrhoeic keratosis?

Seborrhoeic keratoses are common benign skin growths that often have a waxy, scaly or 'stuck-on' appearance. They become more common with age and can occur almost anywhere except the palms and soles.

How advanced epilation removal works

Advanced epilation uses an ultra-fine probe and controlled thermolysis current to cauterise and dry suitable benign growths. The treatment is precise and is planned according to the size, thickness and location of the lesion.

  • A brief stinging heat or hot-scratch sensation is common.
  • The area may look red or slightly raised immediately afterwards.
  • A dry crust generally forms and should be allowed to shed naturally over approximately 7 to 14 days.

A medical check may be required

Some lesions can resemble other skin conditions. Any growth that is new, changing, bleeding, itching or otherwise concerning must be medically assessed before cosmetic removal is considered.
